This lot comprises an Edwardian style oval mahogany style wall mirror. The mirror is set within a narrow frame, possibly constructed from mahogany or a dark-stained hardwood, featuring a prominent carved shell-motif pediment at the top centre. The mirror glass is finished with a bevelled edge. A small white adhesive inventory label is applied to the bottom right of the mirror plate, reading RU1026. No other manufacturer’s marks or signatures are visible on the front or visible portions of the frame. This lot comprises the wall mirror only; the various items visible in the mirror reflection and background, including the jacket, display case, suitcase, and tools, are not included.
Condition report:
The mirror plate exhibits light foxing and localized silvering loss, particularly along the lower perimeter of the glass (photo 1). The frame shows minor surface wear and small abrasions consistent with age and use (photo 1 and 2). The carved shell ornament appears intact. No cracks or significant chips are visible to the glass plate.
