A 2017 United Kingdom five pound silver proof piedfort platinum wedding anniversary coin in presentation case, struck to commemorate the marriage of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. The coin is composed of .925 sterling silver with a double-thickness piedfort edge. The obverse features conjoined effigies of the royal couple with the legend ELIZABETH II D G REG F D · PHILIP PRINCEPS · FIVE POUNDS. The reverse depicts the couple on horseback with the inscription WEDDED LOVE HAS JOINED THEM IN HAPPINESS and the dates 1947 – 2017. The coin is housed in its protective clear plastic capsule. The lot includes an accompanying descriptive booklet titled Platinum Wedding A Story of Love and Loyalty and a Certificate of Authenticity from The Royal Mint, which is numbered 1820. The coin is presented in a black hinged case within a cream-coloured outer box bearing The Royal Mint logo and title.

Condition report:
The coin remains in its sealed protective capsule and appears to be in proof condition with mirror-like fields and frosted relief (photos 4 and 5). The black presentation case is in good condition with no visible damage (photo 1). The cream-coloured outer card box shows minor shelf wear and light surface soiling to the edges and corners (photos 1 and 2).
