A set of three gold-plated silver proof commemorative medals issued by The Jubilee Mint to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. The medals are struck in 925/1000 sterling silver and finished with a layer of 24-carat gold plating to a proof standard. The reverses feature full-colour photographic inserts depicting an official portrait by Sir Cecil Beaton, the Gold State Coach, and the Queen waving from the Buckingham Palace balcony, all within the inscription 65TH ANNIVERSARY OF HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN’S CORONATION and the dates 1953 – 2018. The obverses share a heraldic design of four shields with national floral emblems, surrounded by the Latin legend BRITANNIAR : ET HIBERNIAE SEPTENTRIONALIS REGNUM UNITUM MAGNAE. Each medal carries assay office hallmarks to the lower obverse, though the individual marks are not clearly legible at this resolution. The set is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity titled The Queen’s Coronation Jubilee Gold-Plated Silver Proof Commemorative Collection, bearing the printed signature of Michael J. Byrne. The collection is housed in a black presentation case with a white satin-lined lid printed in gold with JUBILEE MINT and a crown logo. According to the documentation, this set is one of an edition limit of 195 collections.
