A vintage Electro-Medical Supplies Greenham Ltd rexine and wood electro-medical induction unit in case. The portable device is housed within a wooden case finished in a black pebble-grain rexine material, featuring a leather carry handle and metal latches. The interior houses a black polished control panel, possibly constructed from ebonite, which supports a large induction coil assembly with adjustable screw contacts. Controls include two large black rotary knobs for power and intensity, the latter featuring a scale graduated from 1 to 4. The control panel bears printed text reading MANUFACTURED BY ELECTRO-MEDICAL SUPPLIES GREENHAM LTD. LONDON W.1. alongside a hexagonal logo containing the characters EMS. Further printed markings include numerals 1 to 4 and the words ON and OFF. A cylindrical electrode with a red sleeve is secured within the lid by two metal spring clips. An internal compartment contains a vintage blue and red Ever Ready 126 battery. A circular aperture is present on the rear panel of the case. A black power cable is attached to the side, though the end is cut. A white adhesive paper label to the exterior of the case is marked c1166c. This lot comprises the induction unit only; the other electronic items and wooden shelving shown in the background of the images are not included.

Condition report:

The unit is in poor aesthetic condition and is sold as an untested historical artifact. The exterior rexine shows heavy white spotting, surface dust, and areas of potential organic growth (photo 1). The metal latches, hinges, and handle rings exhibit significant surface oxidation, rust, and pitting (photos 1, 2, and 3). There are various scuffs and minor losses to the case covering. Internally, the control panel and coil assembly show light dust accumulation and some oxidation to the metal components (photo 2). The external black output cable is cut and frayed at the end, showing exposed copper wiring (photo 3). The internal Ever Ready 126 battery is vintage; its internal condition is unknown and it may have leaked or corroded. Electrical safety cannot be guaranteed.
