A Lladró glazed porcelain figurine titled Surprise with its original presentation box. The figure is modelled as a standing clown with a whimsical expression, featuring pink curly hair and a small blue and grey brimmed hat. He wears an oversized brown coat with two small brown and white puppies peering out from the side pockets, over a blue and white striped shirt and trousers with a red, cream, and blue checkered pattern. The piece stands on an integral circular pale green base. The underside bears an underglaze blue factory mark consisting of the bellflower logo above LLADRÓ, HAND MADE IN SPAIN, and © DAISA 1991. Also visible is the incised model number 5901, additional incised characters, and a small circular adhesive sticker printed 011. The lot includes the original grey cardboard packaging with a manufacturer label identifying the model as 05901 and the titles MAGIA PAYASO Y PERRITO and SURPRISE.
Condition report:
The figurine appears to be in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or signs of professional restoration (photos 1-4). The delicate extremities, including the fingertips and coat corners, remain intact. There is minor surface wear to the unglazed underside consistent with shelf storage (photo 5). The original box shows light wear to the edges and corners (photo 6).
