A collection of Portmeirion Pomona pattern tableware featuring botanical fruit motifs and a green leaf-scroll border. This group is constructed from glazed earthenware and includes a large circular cheese or cake dome with a matching stand, an oval divided vegetable dish, and two teapots of different sizes. The collection also comprises three storage canisters with wooden lids, two tall liquid dispensers with stoppers for oil and vinegar, and multiple mugs and creamers. Two large rectangular melamine serving trays are included, decorated with matching fruit designs.
The ceramic items feature transfer-printed script identifying various fruit varieties, including ‘Grimwood’s Royal George’ and ‘The Victoria Plum’. Original packaging is present, comprising a green cardboard box printed ‘PORTMEIRION SALAD BOWL’ and a smaller box for ‘6 COASTERS’. An adhesive label on another green box reads ‘Pomona Individual Casserole’. This lot comprises the ceramics, melamine trays, and listed packaging only; the shelving and background items shown in the images are not included.
Condition report:
The collection appears to be in good overall condition with clear transfer-printed decorations (photos 1, 2, and 3). There are no visible chips, cracks, or repairs to the ceramic bodies shown in the photographs. The wooden lids on the storage canisters show minor signs of dryness and light wear to the finish (photo 3). The melamine serving trays exhibit light surface scratching consistent with domestic use (photo 1).
