A collection of pottery and plastic garden planters and a rabbit ornament including three troughs. This lot features a variety of garden containers including a large plastic planter designed with a wood-effect barrel finish, complete with simulated iron bands and rivets. The group includes three rectangular plastic troughs decorated with relief-molded panels of dragons and foliate scrolls. The pottery elements comprise a large circular ceramic planter with a deep cobalt blue exterior glaze, a black glazed ceramic urn with a pedestal base and scrolling relief band, and two green glazed ceramic planters, one of which is tapered and features a band of impressed chevron patterns. Also included is a ceramic planter decorated with a blue and white painted scene of a cottage and coniferous trees on a white ground. The rabbit ornament is made of plastic with a textured finish and bears a small white adhesive label on the base reading ‘C1166C’. No manufacturer’s marks or signatures were observed on the items.

Condition report:

All items exhibit signs of outdoor use, including weathering and soil residue. A significant area of glaze loss and chipping is present on the interior rim and wall of the larger green pottery planter (photo 5). The blue and white landscape planter has a small chip to the outer edge of the blue rim (photo 2). The plastic barrel-effect planter shows surface staining and discolouration to the simulated bands (photo 9). Mineral deposits and interior staining are visible on the glazed pottery items (photo 8). The plastic troughs and rabbit ornament show general surface weathering and light scuffing consistent with outdoor placement (photo 1).
