A collection of Pembroke pattern fine bone china tableware including examples by Aynsley. The service features a Chinoiserie design depicting a colourful bird of paradise perched upon a flowering branch, surrounded by pink peonies, blue blossoms, and green foliage. Each piece is finished with a blue scroll border near the rim and hand-applied gold gilding to the scalloped edges and handles. The collection comprises serving pieces including three lidded tureens of varying sizes with underplates, a footed cake stand, large oval platters, a rectangular sandwich tray, a gravy boat with an oval stand, and a large open serving bowl. Tea and coffee ware includes three teapots, two lidded sugar bowls, two milk jugs, an oil or vinegar cruet bottle, and a quantity of teacups, saucers, and double-handled soup coupes. Table accessories include a set of ceramic napkin rings, two egg cups, a pair of salt and pepper shakers on a fitted tray, a china-handled cake server, and small butter dishes. The lot is accompanied by three blue boxes containing Aynsley Six Place Mats 8 1/4 inch x 7 1/4 inch Acrylic Finish. Many pieces bear a green printed backstamp featuring a crown over a banner reading AYNSLEY, above text stating EST. 1775, MADE IN ENGLAND, FINE ENGLISH, BONE CHINA. Below this, the pattern name is printed as PEMBROKE in red capital letters or Pembroke in brown script, followed by the text Reproduction of an Eighteenth Century Aynsley design.


Condition report:

The service is in overall very good condition with vibrant colours and intact gilding. Minor brown staining and scuffing are visible on the underside foot of the cake stand (photo 11). General light surface wear and minor scuffs consistent with occasional use and stacking are present on the plates and saucers (photo 1). No major chips, cracks, or professional repairs are visible in the provided images.
