A collection of frog and toad style decorative items including a framed needlepoint sampler. The group comprises an assortment of figurines and ephemera crafted from materials including glass, ceramic, resin, and cast metal. The lot features two lampwork glass frogs in blue and spotted green, a large textured grey stone-effect or cast concrete reclining frog, and multiple smaller stylised figures.
The framed needlepoint sampler is worked in cross-stitch on a white ground, featuring the text EAT A LIVE TOAD the first thing in the morning AND NOTHING WORSE will happen to you THE REST OF THE DAY. The piece includes a small frog illustration and is mounted in a dark green wooden frame. Also included is a vintage style cardboard box with multi-coloured graphics reading JUMPING FROG and a small boxed pottery weight in a yellow sleeve with a label reading POTTERY FROG. The assortment is completed by a small framed illustration and several smaller cast metal or resin figurines.
Condition report:
General surface wear and dust are visible across the collection consistent with age and display. The cardboard Jumping Frog box shows significant wear, creasing, and rubbing to the edges and corners (photo 2). The large grey frog figurine has a weathered, textured finish (photo 1). The glass and ceramic items appear generally intact with no visible chips or cracks in the provided photographs.
