This lot comprises two wooden mantel clocks. The first is a Napoleon hat style clock featuring an oak case with a decorative stringing inlay border along the curved top and a stepped base. The silvered dial displays black Roman numerals and spade-style hands, with printed text reading SMITHS above the centre arbor, ENFIELD below, and MADE IN ENGLAND at the bottom edge. It is fitted with a mechanical striking movement indicated by two winding holes. The second clock is a stepped dome-top example in a dark-stained oak case. It features a two-tone dial comprising a central wood-veneer disk and a silvered outer ring with black Arabic numerals. This clock also contains a striking movement with two winding holes. No manufacturer branding is visible on the second clock. Both clocks are presented without winding keys.
Condition report:
The metal bezel and glass assembly of the first clock are detached from the case (photo 3). Both wooden cases show surface dust, minor scuffs, and general wear consistent with age (photos 1 and 2). The mechanical movements are untested and no winding keys are present.
