Sold for: £4
A collection of miniature hand blown and lampworked glass elephant figurines. The collection comprises multiple pieces crafted from glass in a spectrum of colours including emerald green, pale lime, smoky amber, translucent brown, and jet black, alongside clear glass examples with applied accents. The elephants are rendered in a variety of stylised and animated poses, many featuring applied white glass tusks and raised trunks. The collection also includes a small number of other animal forms, notably a long-necked giraffe-like creature in a lime-green finish. No manufacturer marks, backstamps, or signatures are visible on the figurines. A white paper inventory label is present in the foreground bearing the printed text “Shobrook & Co 419”. This lot comprises the glass figurines only; the wooden shelving shown in the images is not included.
Individual pieces range in height from approximately 1.5 cm to 8 cm.
Condition report:
The collection appears generally well-preserved, though the fragility of lampworked glass may result in minor losses to extremities. A small loss is visible to the tusk of a brown elephant (photo 4). No other significant damage is clearly visible across the group.
