A collection of vintage and historical items including a mahogany style writing slope and a WWII POW postcard. The group features a nineteenth-century style mahogany writing slope, constructed with a hinged lid opening to a fitted interior with multiple small wooden compartments and a folding writing surface lined with worn purple fabric. Included is a brown leather utility case with twin-snap button fasteners, containing an assortment of Brooke Bond PG Tips advertising tea cards, including characters from the 40th Anniversary series such as MR SHIFTER, ADA, and AL B BLOWED. The lot also comprises a brass crumb scoop with a turned ebonised wood handle, featuring an embossed image of Windsor Castle. A primary historical item is a WWII German prisoner of war postcard, printed with Kriegsgefangenenpost Postkarte and dated 19.2.45. The handwritten ink details identify the sender as William Webb, Gefangenennummer 259229, at Stalag IV G, addressed to Miss Morris Lovell in Reading, England. It displays a red octagonal stamp reading PASSED P.W. 1318 and a violet camp stamp. This lot comprises the items described above; the pocket knife and other background items shown in the photographs are not included.
Condition report:

The brown leather case has visible surface scuffing and scratches (photo 1). The brass crumb scoop displays surface oxidation and wear to the ebonised finish on the handle (photo 3). The WWII postcard has a prominent central horizontal crease, edge wear, and typical age-related discolouration (photo 6).
