A pair of two mid-twentieth century Lloyd Loom style woven tub chairs, constructed from woven paper and wire over bentwood frames. The lot consists of two chairs: one finished in a teal blue paint with a fixed upholstered seat in a light blue fabric featuring a white floral sprig pattern, and a second chair finished in a cream paint featuring a loose seat cushion upholstered in a gold-toned damask fabric with a daisy motif. Both chairs are designed with a curved tub silhouette and stand on cabriole-style front legs. The chairs are finished in a woven material typical of the period, with the teal chair featuring a contrasting light blue seat and the cream chair featuring a later application of paint over the original finish. No manufacturer marks or labels are visible on either piece.

Condition report:

The blue chair shows significant paint loss and abrasion along the top edge of the woven back and arms (photo 3). There is light staining and wear to the blue floral seat upholstery (photo 3). The cream chair shows widespread paint chipping and scuffing across the woven body and legs (photo 2). The loose seat cushion of the cream chair has a large tear and loss of fabric in the upper corner, exposing the internal padding (photo 2). Both chairs show signs of heavy use and require restoration and reupholstery.
