This lot comprises two Caithness Glass art glass paperweights, each accompanied by its original descriptive card label and clear acrylic display stand. The first paperweight, titled Sea Dance, was designed by Colin Terris and features internal orange and moss-green fronds with five elongated controlled bubbles and a cluster of smaller seed bubbles. The base is etched with the characters U 19147 followed by Caithness, SEADANCE, and Scotland. The original card label is printed with Caithness Sea Dance, Five silvery dancers perform amidst the swirling fronds of the sea bed., Design Colin Terris, Edition Size Unlimited, and Caithness Glass PLC Harrowhill Wick Caithness Scotland. The second paperweight, titled Myriad, contains a central cobalt blue core above a multi-coloured swirled base with a ring of seven large clear controlled bubbles. The base is etched with Caithness, MYRIAD, and Scotland, with a serial number to the side reading L 23178. The associated card label reads Caithness Myriad, A myriad of gleaming bubbles floats above a multi-coloured base., Edition Size Unlimited, and Caithness Glass PLC Inveralmond Perth Scotland.


Condition report:

Both paperweights are in excellent condition with no visible chips or cracks to the glass bodies. The Myriad paperweight shows minor surface shelf-wear scratches to the polished underside of the base. The original paper labels exhibit light age-related yellowing. The acrylic display stands show light dust and minor surface scuffs consistent with handling.
