A collection of vintage and costume jewellery housed in a three piece green faux-alligator skin vanity set, comprising a large dual-compartment jewellery box and two smaller coordinating travel cases. The collection includes an assortment of necklaces, bracelets, rings, and brooches constructed from silver-tone, gold-tone, and copper-tone base metals. The items feature a mix of materials including glass, plastic, synthetic stones, and semi-precious beads. Notable pieces include a large Egyptian style bust brooch in gold-tone metal with blue cabochon accents, a circular brooch set with multi-coloured stones in a Celtic style, and a silver-tone ram’s head ring. The lot features bead necklaces with tiger’s eye or quartz and turquoise-coloured beads. The latch on the main jewellery box is stamped with the lowercase mark amiet. A white rectangular card in one of the smaller boxes bears handwritten notations in blue and red ink reading 6600-1980, 4 F, and 912.5L.
Condition report:
Visible tarnishing and patina are present on various metal settings and chains (photos 4 and 5). The green faux-leather cases show general surface wear, scuffing, and minor loss at the corners (photo 1). Interior linings exhibit dust and minor staining throughout (photos 2 and 3). One silver-tone ring setting in the smaller case appears to have a missing centre stone (photo 2). Scattered loose beads and small components are visible within the compartments (photo 4).
