A pair of two ornithological artworks on paper by E. Wheeler and R. Hinds. The first work, by E. Wheeler, depicts a nocturnal scene featuring an owl perched upon a bare branch silhouetted against a full moon. This artwork is set within a blue card mount and housed in a slim gold-toned frame, bearing a signature and date reading E. Wheeler 1988 in the lower right corner. The second work, by R. Hinds, illustrates a barn owl perched on a tree stump entwined with ivy and small white blossoms. It is presented behind a brown card mount in an ornate gold-finished wooden frame with a beaded inner border and is signed R. Hinds to the lower right. Both pieces are protected behind glass.
Condition report:
Both artworks appear to be in good condition with no visible foxing, staining, or damage to the paper surfaces (photo 2 and photo 3). The glass is intact on both framed pieces. The frame for the Wheeler artwork retains white protective cardboard corners (photo 2). The ornate gold-finished frame shows minor surface wear consistent with handling but remains in good structural order (photo 3).
