This original watercolour and gouache painting on paper by the British wildlife artist David Andrews is titled ‘Uninvited Guests’. The composition depicts two wood mice perched upon a wooden fruit bowl filled with a lemon, an orange, bicolour apples, and green grapes. The subject is set against a dark green background and a patterned tiled surface in the foreground. The work is signed David Andrews in the lower right corner. The verso features a handwritten buff adhesive label inscribed ORIGINAL WATER COLOUR & GOUACHE PAINTING ‘UNINVITED GUESTS’ WOOD MICE ON FRUIT BOWL by David Andrews To Celina, with sincere best wishes from the artist. David Andrews 1988. A secondary printed label identifies the artist as David Andrews, Wildlife Artist, Rudd Cottage, Trentishoe, Parracombe, North Devon. Attached to the back is an auction invoice dated 18 July 2017 for lot 130, which records the dimensions. The painting is housed in a beige mount within a moulded giltwood frame.

Condition report:
The painting appears to be in good overall condition with no visible evidence of fading or moisture damage to the paper support (photo 1, 2). There are several small brown spots of foxing visible on the beige mount, particularly in the lower-left and upper-right quadrants (photo 1, 3). The giltwood frame shows minor surface wear and small abrasions consistent with age.
