A collection of vintage and modern costume jewellery and commemorative items in various materials including enamel, glass, leather, and base metal. The lot features a gold-toned openwork circular brooch set with a central cluster of seventeen cream-coloured faux pearls, marked to the reverse with an impressed rectangular plaque reading TRIFARI © and presented in a cream-coloured textured box marked Ciro London & New York to the interior lid. Also included is a double-strand necklace of faceted clear glass beads with an aurora borealis finish in a blue box marked Guaranteed Iolanthe Jewellery to the lining, and a silver-coloured commemorative coin depicting an oak sprig marked THE NATIONAL TRUST in a green case marked ROYAL MINT beneath a crest. Further items comprise a purple baroque-style pearl necklace in a purple gift box, various enamel and rhinestone brooches including a Christmas themed piece, a brown leather rose, a paua shell style fern, and a small octagonal commemorative enamel pin in a black box reading St Luke’s Hospice 1982 – 25 years – 2007. The assortment is completed by novelty wooden and ceramic charms, three cloisonné enamel beads in a clear plastic tube, and a braided leather bracelet.
Condition report:
The Trifari brooch appears in good condition with all faux pearls present and secure (photo 7). The Iolanthe necklace box shows significant age-related yellowing and staining to the interior satin lining (photo 6). The Royal Mint coin and its case appear well-preserved with no visible damage (photo 4). Some of the smaller base metal pins show minor surface tarnish and oxidation commensurate with age. The Christmas themed brooches remain in their original plastic packaging (photo 1). No other significant defects are visible.
