A collection of Poole Pottery stoneware tableware in the Broadstone pattern from the Compact range designed by Robert Jefferson. The service features a speckled oatmeal glaze with hand-applied dark brown rims and distinctive vertical ribbing to the lower portions of the bodies. The assortment comprises a teapot with lid, a gravy boat with a separate stand, two lidded sugar or preserve bowls, and several teacups and mugs with matching saucers. The dinnerware includes dinner plates, side plates, soup bowls, two large open serving bowls, and several egg cups. The bases of the pieces bear a printed black backstamp featuring a dolphin logo with the characters POOLE ENGLAND OVEN TO TABLEWARE MICROWAVE SAFE and on some examples & FREEZER SAFE. This lot consists of the ceramic items only; the shelving shown in the images is not included.


Condition report:

The collection is in generally good used condition. There is a visible minor chip to the rim of the gravy boat (photo 3). Some pieces show light interior surface marking and staining consistent with regular household use (photo 1 and 3). No other major cracks or repairs are visible in the provided images.
