A collection of decorative earthenware and porcelain including examples by Poole Pottery and Powell, Bishop and Stonier. The Poole Pottery group comprises a hand-painted earthenware circular plate, form 175, featuring central floral sprays and a blue-dotted rim. The base carries a printed circular dolphin mark reading POOLE ENGLAND, HAND MADE, and HAND DECORATED, alongside hand-painted marks XX / 5 and pd, and an impressed number 175. This is accompanied by two matching tea cups and saucers with red earthenware bodies and grey exterior glazes, each bearing a square impressed mark reading POOLE ENGLAND and various hand-painted artist initials. The lot features a three-lobed earthenware divided dish with a scroll handle, transfer-decorated with autumn leaf patterns and gilded borders. Its underside carries a black transfer mark of a figure under an umbrella with the characters ORIENTAL IVORY and PB & S, alongside a red hand-painted pattern number 2859 and a small cross symbol. Also present is a trio of earthenware piggy banks in floral-decorated, plain white, and plain black glazes, and a pair of tall brown earthenware jugs with scrolling foliate patterns in low relief. Further items include a German porcelain swan-form planter bearing a crest mark for KRONESTER BAVARIA GERMANY, a tapered earthenware floral vase with illegible red marks, and a porcelain cup and saucer with a green circular mark reading ROYAL BOTANIC GARDENS KEW, VARIATIONS, A SELECTION FROM THE CURTIS COLLECTION.


Condition report:

The divided dish displays significant all-over glaze crazing and minor surface staining (photo 2). Glaze crazing is also visible on the Poole Pottery plate and saucers (photo 3) and the floral-decorated piggy bank (photo 1). The items show general surface wear, light scratches to the glaze, and minor rubbing to gilded highlights consistent with domestic use (general views). No chips, cracks, or structural repairs are visible in the photographs.
