A collection of porcelain and bone china tea wares featuring multiple patterns and manufacturers. The lot includes a tea service decorated in the Imari palette of cobalt blue, iron red, and heavy gilding, featuring stylized floral panels and foliage. This set is marked to the underside with a printed red backstamp showing a crown above the words ROYAL CROWN DERBY and MADE IN ENGLAND, accompanied by the hand-painted pattern number 2451. Also included is a service decorated with pink rose transfers and purple-toned leaves under a gilt rim, marked with a green printed crown device and the text AYNSLEY ENGLAND BONE CHINA April Rose. A third group of cylindrical cups and saucers features blue floral sprigs and a molded basket-weave border, The collection is further composed of various other pieces including a service with scalloped edges and multi-coloured floral swags, and another featuring a pale green border with pink floral sprigs, where the maker’s marks are present but are not clearly legible as specific names.
Condition report:
The collection appears in generally good condition. The gilding on the Imari style and rose-patterned services remains largely bright and intact. Fine surface crazing to the glaze is visible on the larger Imari style serving plates (photos 7 and 10). No significant chips, cracks, or restorations are visible in the provided images.
