This lot comprises a tenor trombone manufactured by Skylark in China. The instrument is constructed from brass with a clear lacquer finish and includes a silver-plated mouthpiece. The bell flare is decorated with an engraved floral and scrolling motif alongside a stylized depiction of a bird. Engraved marks on the bell read SKYLARK and MADE IN CHINA, positioned below two Chinese characters reading 金雀. The trombone is housed in a fitted hardshell case with a green vinyl exterior and brown trim, featuring a green velvet lining. The case exterior bears a green trapezoidal adhesive label with the word SKYLARK and corresponding Chinese characters.

Condition report:

The instrument is in used, fair condition, exhibiting significant cosmetic wear across the brass surfaces. There is extensive lacquer loss, surface pitting, and oxidation visible on the bell section, tuning slide, and outer slide (photos 2, 4, 7, and 8). The silver-plated mouthpiece shows heavy tarnish and corrosion, particularly within the cup (photos 5 and 6). The hardshell case displays external scuffing and wear to the brown trim (photo 3). The mechanical action of the slide, tuning slide, and water key has not been tested.
