A collection of five Corgi die-cast military aircraft models in 1:72 scale including examples from The Aviation Archive and Predators of the Skies series. Each model is constructed from die-cast metal with plastic components and is presented within its original printed card box featuring a form-fitted plastic display tray. The collection includes a Lockheed P-38J Droop Snoot Lightning Eze Does It, a Supermarine Spitfire F VIII, a Douglas Dauntless SBD-3, a Grumman Avenger TBM-3, and a Showcase Display Series set titled Their Finest Hour. Each box displays the Corgi logo featuring a red and white dog graphic. The Aviation Archive boxes carry a gold winged device reading THE AVIATION ARCHIVE, while the Predators of the Skies boxes feature a stylized eagle emblem. Several boxes bear gold oval adhesive labels reading LIMITED EDITION and NEW TOOLING. One box features a red circular label reading FREE ACE PILOTS COLLECTOR BOOKLET INSIDE. The packaging includes historical information, technical specifications, and specific pilot attributions for the depicted aircraft, such as Capt. Herschel Easy Ezell Jr and Flt. Lt. Eddie Edwards.
Condition report:
The external card boxes show varying degrees of shelf wear including scuffing to edges and corner bumping (photo 3). The box for the Their Finest Hour set displays more significant surface scuffing and white abrasions to the front graphics (photo 6). Remnants of tape and adhesive residue are visible on several box corners (photo 2 and 4). The die-cast aircraft models appear to be in excellent condition, remaining protected and secured within their original internal plastic display trays.
