This auction ended on September 16, 2026.

Start price: £20

Estimated price: £20 - £40

Buyer's Premium: 20%

Sold for: £28

A late 20th-century country style pine chest of five drawers, constructed from solid pine with a warm honey-toned varnished finish. The piece features a traditional two-over-three configuration, comprising two short drawers above three full-width graduated drawers. The drawer units are assembled using simple rebated joinery rather than dovetails and are fitted with ten matching turned pine wooden knobs. Secondary materials include thin plywood or fibreboard utilised for the drawer bottoms and the two-part back panel, which is secured with small screws and a central plastic H-moulding joining strip. The chest is supported by four turned bun feet. No manufacturer marks, labels, or stamps are visible on any of the interior or exterior components. This lot comprises the chest only; the pet and other background items shown in the images are not included.

Condition report:

The chest is in good domestic condition. The top surface shows minor signs of use including light scratches and faint ring marks (photo 4). There is a small, dark blemish resembling a minor scorch or deep impact mark on the front left edge of the top surface (photo 4). The drawer interiors are generally clean, although a few small spots of white residue are visible in the upper drawers (photo 6). The back panel remains securely attached (photo 7).
