Three framed Peter Toms marine scene prints. This lot comprises three works after original watercolours by the artist, each presented under glass. The first print, titled ‘Reflections’, depicts a coastal scene with two small rowing boats in misty, calm waters. It is inscribed in pencil to the lower margin ‘Reflections’ – Peter Toms and is housed in a dark green frame with a light green mount. The second work is a limited edition print titled ‘Folkboat and the Barge’, depicting a traditional red-sailed barge and a smaller folkboat on choppy grey waters. This print is numbered 3/475 in pencil to the lower left and signed Peter Toms in pencil to the lower right. It is presented in a gold-toned frame with a cream mount. A white adhesive label is attached to the lower left corner of the frame which reads Peter Toms LIMITED EDITION PRINT Folkboat & the Barge £20.
Condition report:
The prints appear to be in good condition with no visible evidence of foxing or significant fading to the ink (photo 1). There is very light toning visible to the edges of the card mounts (photos 2 and 3). The frames show minor peripheral scuffing and surface wear consistent with handling, particularly to the corners and edges of the dark green frame (photo 1 and 4).
