This lot comprises a collection of decorative metalware items including pieces in brass, white metal, and enamel. The assortment features two cast metal reclining lion figures, one in a patinated brass style and a larger, detailed silver-toned example. A trio of cast brass baluster-form candlesticks is included, alongside two bells: a polished brass bell on a wooden mount with a tricolour ribbon, and a cast brass bell featuring embossed foliate designs. The group of animal figures includes a large brass style piggy bank, two smaller pig figurines, and a sleeping animal ornament. Further items consist of a miniature brass kettle, a small character jug with a molded face, and a hammered copper style dish. The decorative pieces include an enameled horse brass with a sailing ship design, a white metal rope-knot paperweight, and a thermometer set into a bellows-shaped mount marked with a Celsius scale and the character ‘°C’. No maker’s names are legible on the items.
Condition report:
Visible green verdigris and surface corrosion are present on the piggy bank and the hammered metal dish (photo 2). Surface pitting and tarnish can be seen on the silver-toned lion and the rope-knot paperweight (photo 3). The polished brass bell and miniature kettle show light surface scratching (photo 4). The thermometer dial appears intact, though the unit is untested for accuracy.
