A collection of vintage needlework literature and haberdashery including Kaffe Fassett, Candace Bahouth, and Sylko examples. The literature includes hardback and paperback instructional titles such as Kaffe Fassett Glorious Needlepoint, Medieval Needlepoint by Candace Bahouth, and The New Church Kneeler Book by Angela Dewar, which bears a green adhesive label reading THE NATIONAL TRUST £2.99. The haberdashery comprises thread spools in clear plastic cases with legible branding including SYLKO, DEWHURST’S SYLKO, THREE SHELLS, ENGLISH COTTON, and CLASSIC POLYESTER THREAD MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN. The lot also contains vintage paper dressmaking patterns including McCall’s 7921 and Simplicity 7104, a navy blue fabric cross-stitch kit featuring a mouse character with a label stating Made in Great Britain, and a round sewing tin containing lace trims and ribbons. A cardboard box with a decorative lid contains a quantity of loose buttons in various colours, and several bundles of braided leather style cordage are present.
Condition report:
The instructional books show shelf wear and minor creasing to the edges of the dust jackets (photos 1, 4, 6). The paper envelopes for the McCall\'s and Simplicity patterns are creased and worn at the corners (photo 2). The thread spools include both full and partially used examples (photo 5). Lace, ribbons, and buttons are loose and unsorted within their respective containers (photos 3, 6). The cross-stitch kit is housed in a clear plastic bag (photo 4).
