A group of contemporary country style pine furniture and a stained stool comprising a rocking chair, a storage chest, a three-drawer bedside cabinet, and a circular stool. The pine items are constructed from solid knotty wood with a honey-coloured finish and feature rounded edges. The storage chest is designed with a rectangular top and a hinged lid supported by internal concealed metal hinges and a mechanical lid stay. The bedside cabinet is fitted with three drawers of simple pinned construction, each with a turned wooden knob, and the unit is supported by bun feet. The rocking chair is composed of turned spindles, a curved top rail, and shaped armrests. The circular stool is finished in a significantly darker mahogany-toned stain. No manufacturer markings or labels are visible on any of the pieces. This lot comprises the furniture only; the bed frame and other background items shown in the images are not included.
Condition report:
The furniture is in fair to good condition. The rocking chair displays prominent white adhesive residue at several joints on the arms and spindles, indicating structural repairs (photos 14 and 15). The storage chest lid shows scattered surface scratches (photo 2 and 4). General minor wear to the finish and small indentations to the wood are visible across all pieces consistent with use. The stool shows no significant faults.
