A collection of vintage vanity items and decorative collectibles. The group includes a silver-toned metal vanity set comprising three pieces: a hand mirror, a hairbrush, and a clothes brush. Each item features pale blue moiré fabric panels set beneath clear covers with applied floral rose motifs, complemented by engine-turned detailing to the handles. Also included is a circular wooden-cased aneroid barometer. The dial is printed with weather gradations including Stormy, Rain, Change, Fair, Settled, and Very Dry, and bears the printed text MADE IN ENGLAND, BRIT PAT 589005, and COMPENSATED. A circular emblem containing the characters SB is positioned below the centre of the dial.
The lot further comprises faceted lead crystal animal figurines including a bear and a hedgehog, and a small circular straw marquetry picture in a wooden frame depicting a church and buildings. An assortment of brooches is included, featuring examples with enamel butterfly, rhinestone-set hound, and pastoral porcelain designs. A tall cylindrical vessel is finished with a repeating embossed geometric pattern. Also present is a small bag containing several carved elements, possibly made of bone or resin. The items are presented in a white textured case with a pink fabric-lined interior. Further an orange torch shown in the images is included in this lot.
Condition report:
Surface oxidation and plating loss are visible to the handles of the vanity set (photo 1). The wooden casing of the barometer shows minor surface nicks and general wear (photo 2). There is a small area of surface loss to the geometric vessel (photo 3). General age-related wear and surface dust are present across the collection.
