A collection of five impressionist Mary Martin oil on board paintings. This group comprises four individual studies executed with a heavy impasto technique, featuring floral still lifes and a garden scene. The works include a lush garden view with poppies and lupins, a window sill arrangement with potted plants and a copper saucepan, a study of snowdrops in a faceted glass jug, and an arrangement of pink and red flowers in a glass bowl. The garden scene is signed to the lower left in green paint M. Martin 87. The window sill scene is similarly signed to the lower left in green paint M. Martin 87. The snowdrops study is signed to the lower right in reddish-brown paint M. Martin and bears a verso inscription in black ink reading SNOWDROPS and Mary Martin. This painting also retains a central paper label for the framer reading Framed by Michael Kelly Kelly Lifton, Devon TEL MILTON ABBOT 249. The floral bowl study is signed to the lower right in dark blue paint M. Martin. Each painting is housed in a decorative gilt or stained wooden frame with a fabric-effect or painted slip.
