A Victorian style mahogany or dark-stained wood framed wall mirror with a central arched aperture. The mirror is constructed with a rectangular outer frame featuring a deep, lustrous finish and a prominent wood grain possibly characteristic of mahogany. The frame houses a large arched inner aperture containing a recessed mirror plate. This piece was likely originally part of a larger furniture item such as a dressing table or sideboard, as evidenced by two small pre-drilled mounting holes visible in the top corners. No manufacturer marks, signatures, or labels are readable on the item.
Condition report:
The wooden frame is in good overall condition with a deep finish, showing minor surface scuffs, small dings, and a few minute white paint specks consistent with age and storage (photo 1). The arched mirror plate is clear and provides a good reflection, with minor degradation to the silvering visible at the extreme edges (photo 1). The structure appears sound, and the mounting holes at the top corners are consistent with its original function.
