A contemporary expressive style painting on board depicting a cheetah in full stride across a savannah. The work is executed in acrylic or oil paint with vigorous, textured brushwork and impasto highlights that suggest the animal’s movement and the texture of the long grass. The composition features a vibrant palette of reds, oranges, and yellows, with the cheetah set against a saturated red background. No signature, maker’s mark, or date is visible on the face of the painting or the visible edges of the frame. The artwork is presented in a substantial wooden frame comprising a dark brown wood-grain outer moulding and a multi-stepped gilt inner slip.
Condition report:
The paint surface appears in good condition with no visible losses, flaking, or craquelure. A light layer of surface dust is present across the painting. The wooden frame shows minor scuffs, small nicks, and light wear to the corners and outer edges (photo 1). No other visible faults are noted.
