A set of five Windsor Mint gold and silver-plated copper medals with presentation case. This lot comprises three large commemorative strikes and two smaller examples, all struck in copper with precious metal plating. The larger 70mm pieces include a 2012 Diamond Jubilee medal with a colourised coronation portrait and the Royal Coat of Arms to the reverse, a 2011 Year of the Three Kings strike featuring profiles of George V, Edward VIII, and George VI with spot gold detailing, and a 2016 God Save the Queen medal inscribed with the first verse of the national anthem and set with a red Swarovski crystal. The two 40mm medals consist of a 2017 Kings and Queens of Britain issue with a colourised portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, and a 2012 HMS Beagle strike from the Ships That Made History collection with spot gold highlights.
Each piece is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity detailing technical specifications such as weight and diameter. One certificate is printed with ‘exclusively designed for Windsor Mint’ and is numbered ‘* 02572 *’. The other accompanying certificates are numbered ‘* 02562 *’, ‘* 00892 *’, ‘* B 00591 *’, and ‘* 00235 *’. The medal for Kings and Queens of Britain is accompanied by a certificate titled ‘Kings & Queens of the UK’, creating a naming conflict between the strike and documentation. The collection is housed in individual clear acrylic capsules within a navy blue hinged presentation case with a velvet-effect lining.
