A collection of vintage metal pocket lighters including examples by Ronson, Colibri, and Win Japan with one presentation case. This assortment features a variety of pocket and novelty lighters constructed from gold and silver-toned base metals. The collection includes a gold-toned hobnail-patterned lighter in a black presentation case marked MAXIM in gold lettering, with the lighter base also reading MAXIM. Two lighters bear the Colibri name; one gold-toned with a grid pattern is marked Colibri LONDON on the base, and a black and gold-toned example is marked Colibri ESTD 1928. A souvenir lighter for Blackpool featuring an illustration of the tower is marked RONSON Varaflame on the base. An advertising lighter for Superkings cigarettes is marked Hudson KOREA. Further pieces include a black and gold-toned striped lighter marked WIN JAPAN, a slim silver-toned lighter marked Champ, and a brushed metal pipe lighter marked PIPE FALCON. The group is completed by a silver-toned novelty lighter in the form of an alien head with red translucent eyes.
Condition report:
The collection shows varying degrees of surface wear consistent with age and use. The Blackpool Ronson lighter displays significant plating loss and wear to the printed design (photo 4). The Superkings lighter shows noticeable scratches and surface wear to the gold-toned finish (photo 3). Minor scuffs and wear are visible on the black panels of the Colibri Estd 1928 lighter (photo 4). The Maxim lighter remains in its presentation case and shows less wear than the other pieces (photo 5). The novelty alien lighter has some light surface tarnish (photo 3). All items are sold as untested for working condition.
