A collection of vintage brass and metal items including a decorative model cannon, a portable voltmeter, and various horological accessories. The model cannon is constructed from brass and mounted on an ornate carriage decorated with foliate relief work. The barrel features a raised crest depicting a crown over a shield, although the interior details are not legible. Included is a portable voltmeter housed in a dark-stained wooden case with a blue fabric lining. The instrument features a dual-scale dial marked VOLT with increments from 0 to 12 and 0 to 120, and base terminals marked 12 VOLT, +, and 120 VOLT. The assortment also contains a circular brass perpetual calendar marked 50 YEARS CALENDAR FOR 50 YRS for the period 1993-2042, decorated with a sailing ship and a ships wheel. Completing the lot are several clock winding keys in steel and brass, some stamped with size numbers 3 and 5, and two circular brass pendulum bobs.
Condition report:
The brass model cannon displays heavy tarnish and areas of green oxidation, particularly around the wheels and barrel (photo 2). The wooden voltmeter case shows wear to the exterior finish and edges (photo 5). The clock winding keys exhibit varying degrees of surface tarnish and light rust, and one of the two brass pendulum bobs has significant surface oxidation and discolouration (photo 9).
