This lot comprises a Sir William Russell Flint ‘Reclining Nude’ figurative print in a giltwood frame. The study depicts a reclining female nude figure wearing a white headscarf, posed on a yellow-draped sofa with a patterned grey textile partially covering her lower body and a circular vanity mirror positioned to the right. The lower right corner bears a printed black signature reading ‘W. RUSSELL FLINT’ followed by additional characters that are not clearly legible. The work is housed behind glass with a multi-toned mount in an ornate giltwood frame featuring scrolled foliate moulding.
Condition report:
The giltwood frame shows numerous losses to the decorative composition moulding on both the left and right vertical edges, which reveals the wooden substrate (Photos 3 and 4). The mounting exhibits minor age-related discolouration and light staining (Photo 1). No other visible faults are present.
