This lot comprises a height adjustable eight-part dressmaker’s dummy. The form is designed for garment construction and features an eight-part body construction, allowing for independent adjustment of the bust, waist, and hip measurements. The torso is covered in a grey, foam-backed jersey fabric designed for pinning. The dummy is mounted on a height-adjustable black metal central pole, which sits on a four-legged black plastic pedestal base. A wire hem gauge arm is attached to the central pole. Integrated black plastic adjustment dials are located at the neck, bust, waist, and hips to expand or contract the body segments. A top-mounted black dial at the neck is embossed with the words PUSH DOWN and OPEN accompanied by directional arrows. The torso dials feature white linear markings and arrows. No manufacturer branding or logos are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The dummy is in used condition with signs of light surface staining, particularly to the chest and lower torso areas as visible in photos 1 and 6. The grey jersey fabric exhibits general pilling across the surface as seen in photo 5. The black plastic components, including the pedestal base and adjustment dials, show minor surface scuffs and an accumulation of dust consistent with age and use as shown in photo 5. The wire hem gauge arm is present on the central pole as seen in photo 7. All adjustment mechanisms appear present, though their full mechanical range has not been tested.
