An 18ct yellow gold wedding band featuring a flat profile shank with a textured finish to the exterior surface. The interior of the shank is struck with a series of British hallmarks. These marks comprise the maker’s initials GG and S in a rectangular cartouche, a crown symbol, the fineness mark 18, an anchor town mark for the Birmingham Assay Office, and the date letter q in a shaped shield. The readable maker’s mark GG and S corresponds to the manufacturer Goodman Brothers and Stockman Limited. The ring is constructed of solid 18ct gold throughout.
Weight: 5.0g (as per accompanying tag).
Condition report:
The ring shows signs of moderate wear consistent with regular use. There are visible surface scratches and scuffs to the exterior (photo 1) and the textured finish appears slightly worn (photo 3). Minor indentations are present on the edges of the shank. The interior of the ring shows visible surface grime and dark oxidation, particularly around the hallmark stamps (photo 2).
