Sold for: £50
A single yellow metal ring featuring a central rectangular black stone inlay, possibly onyx or glass. The ring is constructed with a flat-profile head where the polished black stone is securely set into the metal frame. The shoulders of the band are decorated with cast scrollwork and foliate detailing that tapers into a plain, polished shank. The metal possesses a warm yellow tone characteristic of gold alloys, though no fineness marks are legible in the provided images. The piece weighs approximately 2.56 grams. Internally, the shank displays some worn markings which are not clear enough to transcribe or identify as formal hallmarks.
Condition report:
The metal surface shows moderate wear including fine scratches and minor indentations consistent with regular use. There is a noticeable buildup of residue and dirt within the recessed areas of the decorative scrollwork on the shoulders. The black stone inlay appears to be in good condition without significant chips or cracks, although faint surface abrasions are visible under close inspection. The interior of the shank is worn, obscuring any potential maker\'s marks or purity stamps.
