This lot comprises two vintage Swiss made mechanical wristwatches. The first item is a stainless steel wristwatch featuring a silvered sunburst dial with applied Arabic numerals and dot hour markers. The dial is printed with a winged logo and reads ROTARY, 17 Jewels, Incabloc, and T SWISS MADE T. It features a centre seconds hand with a distinctive red arrow tip. The screw-down case back is stamped ALL STEEL, INCABLOC, WATERPROOF, NON MAGNETIC, SWISS MADE, and bears the reference number 41 18 88. The watch is fitted with an expandable stainless steel Speidel style bracelet featuring gold-toned decorative inserts.
The second item is a gold-toned wristwatch with a silvered sunburst dial, applied baton markers, and Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock. The dial is marked SWISS EMPEROR, 17 JEWELS, INCABLOC, and SWISS MADE, with a date aperture at the 3 o’clock position. The stainless steel case back is stamped FOND ACIER INOXYDABLE and SWISS MADE. This watch is fitted with a gold-toned expandable bracelet marked Excalibur. Both watches utilize manual wind 17-jewel Swiss movements.
Condition report:
Both watches exhibit surface scratches and scuffing to the crystals and cases consistent with age and regular use (photos 1, 2, and 5). The Rotary dial shows light age-related patination and minor spotting (photo 2). The Swiss Emperor watch shows significant wear to the gold plating, particularly on the lugs and the crown (photo 5 and 6). The working status of both mechanical movements is untested.
