Sold for: £90
A vintage wristwatch featuring a round case with angled lugs. The watch is constructed with a metallic case, showing a silvery-grey finish consistent with stainless steel or a plated base metal. The dial is a light silver or off-white tone, featuring a mix of applied and printed Arabic numerals for the hours. A sub-seconds dial is positioned at the 6 o’clock mark, featuring concentric circular graining. The hour and minute hands are of a dauphine style. The dial bears a printed Greek letter Omega symbol and the name OMEGA in capitalised letters below the 12 o’clock position. The lower edge of the dial, beneath the sub-seconds register, carries a partially legible printed mark reading SWISS MADE. The case back is plain and polished without external markings or inscriptions. The watch is currently fitted with two spring bars between the lugs but lacks a strap. The winding crown is absent from the stem at the 3 o’clock position.
Condition report:
The case shows significant wear, with extensive scratching across the lugs and case back (photo 2). There is visible pitting and loss of the surface finish on the lugs and the case underside (photo 1). The crystal is heavily marked with numerous surface scratches and displays clouding across the surface (photo 1). The dial shows advanced patination, with brown spotting and foxing distributed across the entire surface (photo 1). The hands exhibit noticeable oxidation and surface darkening. The winding crown is missing, and the mechanical movement is currently untested; the watch likely requires a full professional overhaul and replacement parts to reach working order.
