A ladies mechanical dress wristwatch featuring a 9ct gold case and a Swiss-made movement. The square dial is finished in a light tone with Arabic numerals and baton markers, marked “Avia”, “15 JEWELS”, and “SWISS MADE”. The inner case back bears the maker’s mark “AVIA” and “BRITISH MADE”, alongside the hallmarks for 9ct gold, including the “.375” purity mark, the number “9”, and a date letter “C”. The movement is a 15-jewel manual wind mechanism marked “SWISS”. The watch is fitted with an integrated expanding 9ct gold metal core back and front bracelet featuring geometric engine-turned links, marked “PAT. PEND.” and “PAT”. The total weight of the timepiece, including the movement and bracelet, is 17.90 grams.
Condition report:
The dial shows significant age-related spotting, yellowing, and patina. The acrylic crystal is intact but displays multiple surface scratches. The gold case has fine surface abrasions consistent with regular use. The winding crown exhibits substantial plating loss, exposing the base metal beneath. The bracelet shows heavy wear and oxidation on the internal surfaces of the links, though the elastic tension remains functional. The movement has been removed from the case for inspection; its mechanical functional state has not been verified and it is sold as found.
