This lot comprises two antique metal components. A antique cast iron spike boot scraper, and a antique brass spindle.
Condition report:
The wrought iron boot scraper shows significant surface corrosion and deep pitting, particularly on the untreated lower tang (photo 1). The black protective coating on the head is heavily textured and uneven, consistent with application over previous oxidation. The turned metal spindle shows a deep aged patina with visible areas of green verdigris around the base and joints (photo 1). A slight bend is visible in the lower turned section of the spindle just above the square base foot. The mounting holes show wear and distortion from previous use.
