A collection of sewing and haberdashery supplies contained within several storage cases and bins. The group includes an ornate rectangular wooden chest featuring relief carvings of floral and scroll motifs to the front and sides, housing a quantity of loose thread spools. The lot further comprises a blue and clear plastic organizer containing approximately 40 spools of thread and several metal bobbins. Also included is a white metal bin with gold-toned lettering reading B R E A D, containing bulk notions including a pack of 2 Elastic Strips with a yellow card printed with specifications for 5.5 mm and 13 mm elastic, and a quilted fabric pouch with a rose design. A white plastic partitioned tray contains two pairs of scissors, one large pair with grey plastic handles marked STAINLESS STEEL and one smaller pair of all-metal embroidery scissors, alongside a circular pin wheel and a blue leather-cased tool. Legible brands on the thread spools include Sylko, Dewhurst’s, Gütermann, and Coats Duet. The lot also includes a grey vinyl tool roll tied with green cord, several small cardboard boxes including one marked 2 1/2 FOAM ANCHOR 22P, and a silver-toned rectangular tin.
Condition report:
The items are in used vintage condition. Multiple thread spools are part-used with loose ends visible (photo 2). The carved wooden chest appears structurally sound but shows typical drying and minor surface wear consistent with age (photo 2). The metal BREAD bin shows minor paint loss and surface scratches to the exterior (photo 5). Plastic organizers show expected surface dust and light scuffing (photo 3). Functional tools including scissors and pins appear in usable condition though show light signs of handling (photo 4).
