A collection of British commemorative crested ware and institutional ceramics comprising various miniature souvenir pieces and larger tableware items. The top shelf contains a group of white glazed earthenware and bone china crested miniatures in diverse forms, including a cat marked Empire Exhibition, a harp, candlesticks, a fireplace, and various small jugs. These pieces are decorated with polychrome transfer-printed coats of arms for British locations including Bournemouth, Exeter, Torquay, and the City of London. Notable pieces include a boot-shaped vessel with a brown glaze and a white Maltese cross, and a lidded trinket box with a winter coaching scene. The lower shelf features institutional tableware, including two plates and a teacup with blue transfer-printed markings. One teacup and two saucers feature a crown and anchor seal. The base of the teacup bears a green underglaze stamp with a broad arrow symbol above 1963 and the text BURGESS and LEIGH BURSLEM. Also included is a white earthenware plate with a central blue circular mark reading PENNY DINNER SOCIETY EXETER and a small blue and white transfer-printed plate marked YORKSHIRE RELISH.

Condition report:

The collection shows signs of age-related wear throughout. Significant crazing is visible on the glaze of the Exeter Penny Dinner Society plate and the Admiralty style cup and saucers (photo 4, 5). A small chip is present on the foot rim of the Burgess and Leigh cup (photo 6). The small Yorkshire Relish plate displays visible brown staining to the surface (photo 5). The crested ware miniatures generally appear intact, though minor surface wear and occasional rubbing to the transfer prints are consistent with age across the group.
