Sold for: £3
A natural fibre runner rug featuring a heavy, all-over textured weave. The piece is constructed with thick, bundled horizontal weft fibres, possibly jute, seagrass, or coir, which are held in place by thinner vertical warp threads in a consistent grid pattern. This machine-woven construction creates a ribbed surface designed for durability in high-traffic areas. The cross-section of the roll reveals a dense, fibrous core to the horizontal elements. No manufacturer marks, labels, or country-of-origin stamps are visible on the rug’s surface or the exposed edges of the roll. This lot comprises the rug only.
Condition report:
The rug appears to be in unused or lightly used condition with no visible staining, bald spots, or structural breaks in the weave (photo 1). The edges show natural fraying and loose fibre ends typical of the material where it has been cut (photo 2). The roll exhibits slight deformation from storage, but the weave remains consistent throughout the visible portions.
