A collection of ceramic and porcelain decorative items in various styles including Oriental and Victorian. The group comprises a tall ribbed yellow-glazed ceramic vase, a cylindrical vase with a transfer-printed owl motif against a mottled brown ground, and a larger cream-coloured textured stoneware bowl with a flared rim. Oriental style pieces include a black-glazed square-section vase decorated with polychrome floral and bird motifs, a blue and white porcelain ginger jar with floral decoration, and a hand-painted porcelain vase featuring a landscape and figures. The assortment further includes multiple small figurines such as a seated boy reading a book, a robin, an owl, and a miniature chair bearing the printed verse The Old Arm Chair. Also present are stoneware pitchers, including a brown sack-form example, and various small bowls and dishes. A small blue stoneware base with multiple apertures contains a dark polished stone egg. A small light blue mug bears an adhesive label with the handwritten characters m9. The larger cream bowl features an unreadable impressed mark to the underside.
Condition report:
The collection is in generally good condition. Surface dust is present across all items. The large cream-coloured bowl shows visible fine crazing to the glaze. Minor surface wear and small losses to the painted decoration are present on some of the smaller figurines, consistent with age and handling. No major cracks or professional repairs are evident upon visual inspection.
