A collection of glass animal figurines and decorative objects, primarily constructed from clear lead crystal with some coloured glass examples. The group features a variety of subjects including a large elephant with a raised trunk, a horse pulling a rectangular cart, a seated cat on a frosted rectangular base, a polar bear in a walking pose, and a leaping dolphin on a frosted wave-form base. The collection also includes several birds, including a large toucan with a prominent beak, a smaller bird with a raised tail, and a duck with linear textured wing details. Other forms include a seated poodle with a frosted base, a fish with internal dark grey or green tinting, and a small snail with internal red and green swirls. The pieces exhibit a mixture of molded, pressed, and hand-finished techniques. A clear glass polar bear figurine is marked to the base with the etched name Villeroy and Boch. Other pieces bear small etched characters on the bases that are not clearly legible as names or words.
Condition report:
The items are in good overall condition with no visible cracks or major chips. There is a general build-up of surface dust and grime across the collection. The horse and cart figurine shows some internal yellowing or residue within the glass (photo 1). Minor surface scratches and flea-bite chips consistent with handling are visible on the undersides of the bases of the larger clear glass pieces (photo 2).
