A collection of vintage glass milk bottles presented in a rusted wire-mesh delivery crate. The crate is constructed from steel wire with a significant amount of oxidation throughout and features the letters P and D formed into the wire frame on two sides. The assortment includes clear glass bottles, primarily in the one-third pint size, featuring various embossed logos and text. One bottle is embossed with Plymouth Coop Socy within a triangle, another displays a crown logo above the text Trade Mark Coronet Milk, and two examples feature a triangular logo containing the text Safety First Milk Assn, with one additionally reading Bottled by Members of the Safety First Milk Association. Many of the bottles have small paper tags tied to their necks with handwritten ink notations, and several display internal cloudiness or residue. This lot comprises the crate and glass bottles only.
Condition report:
The wire crate exhibits heavy surface rust, oxidation, and missing finish throughout (photo 1). Several glass bottles show internal cloudiness and visible residue (photo 3). A small white adhesive label reading M709C is attached to the lower front wire of the crate (photo 4). The glass surfaces appear generally intact without visible chips or cracks shown in the provided images.
