A collection of metal and ceramic candlesticks and candle holders in various styles and materials. The group features a large black-finished wrought iron style five-branch candelabrum decorated with scrollwork detailing and a silver-toned metal three-branch candelabrum with a fluted central column and gadrooned borders. Also included are a pair of silver-toned metal single candlesticks with stepped circular bases and a silver-toned metal pillar candle holder with a flared rim. The ceramic components of the lot comprise a pair of blue-glazed figural candle holders depicting women in traditional dress holding bowls, a white ceramic candlestick with an organic shell-like scroll design, and a small floral-encrusted porcelain chamberstick. Two turned wood items with white stone or ceramic rims are also present. A small mark is visible on the base of the fluted metal candelabrum, though the characters are not legible as a specific name or hallmark. The porcelain chamberstick features applied polychrome floral decoration.
Condition report:
The metal items exhibit varying degrees of surface oxidation, tarnish, and light scratches consistent with use. The ceramic figural candle holders show evidence of glaze crazing throughout. The floral-encrusted chamberstick has some minor losses to the delicate applied petals. All items appear structurally sound without major cracks or repairs visible.
